• Macbook Pro M1 This is pretty amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the fan come on once in the last 6 months. Event when running a bunch of VMs and all the CPU heavy crud that is required for “modern” web development.

• NuPhy Air 75 Love the weight of this. I ended up with the clicky blue switches because it was sold out of browns and waiting was not an option. I’m going to switch to browns in the future, hooray for hot-swap sockets. The battery doesn’t seem to last nearly as long as I’d like though.

• Framework 13 I love it. Great keyboard. The Trackpad is quite nice when you convince Linux to do the correct thing. It’s lighter than my MacBook by a country mile. The replaceable / customizeable ports have already proved themselves to be useful. My only issues would be the pretty bouncy screen and a fan that puts a fighter jet to shame.

• Keychron K7 Pro Small, thoky, wireless and (allegedly) able to customize with QMK firmware. What’s not to like? Well I guess no `/~ key out of the box. I really need to dig into the firmware to get that back.

• HHKB Pro Hybrid Type-S I see what all the fuss is about. It is so nice. I normally prefer low profile keyboards but this one made it worth it to get a nice wrist rest. I should point out that this was a (very generous) gift. Despite how much I love this thing I’m still not convinced it’s worth how much they go for. Here in Canada they go for an eye-watering $400+ dollars. I think you can get a very nice substitute for much less than that. The topre switches are amazing, but so are some of the standard mech switches you can get these days. The thing I like the most is the layout. If your not keen to go down the super-ergo path, this might be for your. Having a backspace just above the return is amazing. Super compact with all the stuff still close by.

• Contour Unimouse Ergonomic, vertical-ish, wild looking, actually 3 button mouse. When I started used the Acme editor I yearned for a real three button mouse and this is one of the few I could find. By 3 buttons I mean there are three actual flat buttons on the mouse. It has a clickable scroll wheel as well, but there is also an actual middle button. When you need it, there is no substitute. It’s unfortunate that everyone making mouse with 2 buttons and a scroll wheel lists there product as a 3 button mouse. Its technically correct, but it turns out “3 button mouse that ACTUALLY HAS A THIRD BUTTON” is not a very useful search term.

• Pinebook USB C Dock So good. Just works with all of my laptops. It’s like 1/5th the price of every other dock I could find. Can only do 30hz at 4k, but my $300+ dell dock is the same so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
